 "Yazd", as an ancient word, has roots in such words as "Yasht", "Yazt", and "Yasn", implying praise and worship of God. Yazd is among the ancient and historic areas of Iran and as the crossroads between early routes of Rey, Kerman, Pars and Khorasan, it has been believed by many scholars to be one of the far states of the Median period. In the Sasanian era and especially at the age of Qobad, Anushiravan and Yazdegerd I, the whole region was of great prominence and economic importance.
Aside from slight differences, wedding ceremonies in the cities and villages of Yazd are all similar and Arabune (Dayere) is the only instrument played unaccompanied in weddings and delightful events in Yazd. ...
