Shahram Nazeri was born in 1949 in Kermanshah to an art-loving family deeply interested in music. The general atmosphere of music mysticism which prevails in Kermanshah and most of all the encouragements he received from his family, drove him to study dastgahi music of Iran.
From 1973 he began to study the vocal radif of Persian music with the late Ostad (Maestro) Mahmud Karimi in the National Conservatory. Then he attended the master-classes of the late Ostad Abdollah Davami to finish his courses in the school of Saba. He won the first prize of Barbad competition in singing and after that Ostad Nur-Ali Borumand encouraged him to join the musicians of the National Radio and Television Corporation. There he madehis debut with the Ensemble Sheyda, led by Mohammad-Reza Lotfi and afterwards continued with the newly formed ensemble "Sheyda and Aref".
After being acquainted with Ostad Mohammad-Reza Shajarian he got more involved and more experienced in the art of singing (avaz). He was also fortunate to study and sing with some of the greatest maters of his time such as Ostad Ahmad Ebadi. Ostad Asqar Bahari and Ostad Hoseyn Qavami.
Nazeri has also enjoyed the knowledge and experiences of numerous musicians and scholars, here only mentioning Jalal Zolfonun, hoseyn Alizadeh, Hasan Nahid, Mohammad-Reza Darvishi, Ali Nazeri, Mahmud Hashemi, Bizhan Kamkar, Mohammad Firuzi and Reza Qasemi, all have deepened his understanding of both instrumental and vocal music.
Shahram Nazeri has turned to be a prolific singer of recent years and is now primarily involved in the educating of young singers.
Bizhan Kamkar was born in 1949 in Sanandaj to a music-loving family and began to study music with his father, himself an eminent musician. Until 26 he made numerous guest appearances in Radio Corporation of Sanandaj and also in private concerts held by his family members. These fruitful years provided him the basis for the future.
In 1974 he came to Tehran and registered his name in the Faculty of Fine Arts in the Tehran University to study music. His collaboration with the Ensemble "Sheyda" led by Mohammad-Reza Lotfi began around the same year followed by a period with the Ensemble "Aref". After the revolution he worked mainly as a singer in the series called "Chavush".
His preferred musical instrument is tar, however in the aforementioned ensembles he has played robab, tombak and daf. His style of daf playing has been widely acclaimed. He has sung in some of the works composed by his brothers, Hushang and Arsalan who are both distinguished musicians, and in "Hesar" by Hoseyn Alizadeh. ...
